Out of lives — here is what you missed, and why
This recap is the lesson: study the groups below and the herring note, then try tomorrow's puzzle with fresh eyes.
How to play · 30 seconds to learn
Four groups. Sixteen words. One trickster.
1
Pick four
Tap four tiles you believe share a hidden theme — a category, a word pattern, a shared meaning.
2
Submit, learn, adjust
A right group locks in and reveals its theme. A wrong group costs a life. Three shared words with a true group gives a "One away!" hint — without naming the odd tile.
3
Beat the herring
One word fits two groups on purpose. The last group is always the test of whether you spotted it.
Tip: solve the clearest group first. Every locked group removes four tiles and makes the herring easier to spot.

Welcome — your first puzzle, step by step
1. Tap four words that share a hidden theme. 2. Press Submit. A correct group locks in and reveals its theme. 3. A wrong group costs a life — you have three. 4. One word is a herring: it fits two groups, so save the trickiest group for last.
Keeper's tip: solve the clearest group first. Every solved group removes four tiles.
Help
Stuck? Use a Hint: the first hint each day is free and reveals one unsolved theme; further hints cost 20 coins you earned in-game. "One away!" means three of your four tiles belong to a real group — swap the fourth. Out of lives? The recap shows all four groups and the herring explanation so the next puzzle is easier.
