About this game

Cold-Case Files is a deduction game where you reopen old cases, read fingerprints, fibers and alibis, and rule out suspects until one remains. Every generated case has exactly one culprit, so careful reading always cracks it — with a fresh daily file and endless free-run cases, it is one of the most replayable puzzle games for armchair detectives.

How to play

1. Read the case file: what was taken, where, and when it happened.
2. Tap Examine on every evidence item. Fingerprints and fibers can point to a suspect; camera and receipt evidence can clear one.
3. Tap Rule out on suspects the evidence clears. Fern stops you if examined evidence contradicts a rule-out.
4. When one suspect remains, tap Accuse and confirm. A right accusation closes the case; a wrong one ends it with the true culprit revealed.
5. Try the Daily Case File for three fresh cases, same for every detective today, or Free Run for endless cases.

Tips

• Examine everything before accusing: a wrong accusation ends the case.
• Rule out every cleared suspect first for the clean-round bonus.
• A smudged print or shared shoe size proves nothing on its own — that is the neutral item, not a clue.
• Keys 1-6 examine evidence in order if you prefer the keyboard.
