About this game

Ink Trail Turf is a fast turf-claim game: draw a loop trail to claim turf on a shared board, dodge bot rivals that cut unfinished trails, and let the longest safe loops win. Play the date-seeded Daily board or a Free Run in this strategy games pick for tense, quick matches.

How to play

1. Pick a mascot, then tap Play Free Run, Play Daily, or Relaxed Run.
2. Move with arrow keys, WASD, the on-screen pad, or hold-and-drag on the board. Leaving your turf starts a trail.
3. Loop around open land and step back onto your own turf to claim the trail and everything inside the loop.
4. If a rival crosses your trail, it is cut and your pen hops back to base. Cross a rival trail to cut theirs instead.
5. First to 60 turf wins. In Relaxed Run the goal is 50 turf and there is no clock. When the clock ends, most turf wins.

Tips

• Short loops are safe loops. Long loops pay more but stay open longer — that is the whole gamble.
• A trail of 8 or more cells makes rivals curious. Close it fast or expect company.
• Loops that swallow 12 or more open cells pay a Big Loop bonus of 10 coins.
• Cut a rival trail and you bank 5 coins and send their pen home. Cutting beats chasing.
